A meeting of members of the Coordination and General Councils of the organization with the CEO and Chairman of the Board of JSC Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov took place at the Delovaya Rossiya site. The discussion focused on issues related to support for the electrometallurgical industry.
Shareholder of the Novostal-M holding Ivan Demchenko spoke about the challenges faced by electrometallurgical enterprises. He emphasized that regular increases in tariffs for rail transportation create an additional financial burden on companies.
“The decrease in scrap transportation volumes threatens the raw material security of electrometallurgical companies. We must reconsider our approaches to tariff policy in order to ensure the stability and competitiveness of our industry”, - noted Mr. Demchenko.
During the discussion, solutions were proposed, including the possibility of creating more flexible conditions for scrap transportation. This could create competitive conditions for rail transport, which is currently inferior to road transport over short distances.
Alexey Repik, Chairman of Delovaya Rossiya, also emphasized in his speech the importance of building an effective logistics network in the country:
“Despite the sanctions pressure and difficulties with access to financing, Delovaya Rossiya entrepreneurs continue to work on fulfilling the tasks set before us by the state - this is, first of all, import substitution, the creation of new industries that are necessary to achieve technological sovereignty. We have huge ambitions, and achieving the set goals depends on the participation of Russian companies in the implementation of these projects, many of which are not viable without effective logistics”.
